 A Guided 4-day, 50 km spectacular slackpacking trail
in the heart of the Cape Whale Coast, 2.5hrs from Cape Town.

Enjoy each day on The Perlemoen Trail with our expert guide exploring this extraordinary seashore, a truly remarkable view of this coastline, professionally interpreted with special insights into marine ecology, fynbos medicinal plants and flowers, and an in-depth understanding of Khoisan history and the many shipwrecks in these waters. The trail is rated for medium fitness hikers, each day is easy going with no steep hills and lots of breaks to take in various aspects of nature and spectacular scenery.  No heavy pack to carry and very comfortable accommodation each night.  We offer Guided Fully catered and self catered options.  Read more about price and availability

With over 30 years of experience in adventure guiding Jason Stonehewer hosts The Perlemoen Trail. Jason is passionate about nature guiding and studying our amazing inter-coastal marine environment.  In August 2014, Jason received the Mayor’s Award for his contribution to environmental awareness and education.

 Jason has brought on board several specialist guides  true experts in their field who share his passion for conservation and the local area.  Some hiking trail facilitators use inexperienced unqualified guides, but all our guides are qualified FGASA (Field Guides Association of South Africa) guides with specialities in Marine ecology, Strandveld flora & Fauna, medicinal and edible plants, geology, shipwrecks and Khoi-san history. Meet the guides
